Odisha is set to experience a significant rise in temperatures in the coming days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The weather office on Wednesday issued a forecast predicting a gradual increase in both daytime and nighttime temperatures across the state.
As per the latest bulletin, the maximum (day) temperature is expected to rise by 2 to 4°C over the next three days, leading to hotter days ahead. Similarly, the minimum (night) temperature is likely to remain steady for the next 24 hours, before climbing by 2 to 3°C over the subsequent four days.
The IMD has cautioned that residents should prepare for scorching days and warmer nights as the mercury level continues to rise.
In the last 24 hours, some parts of Odisha already recorded a noticeable increase of 2 to 4°C in maximum temperatures at isolated places. However, most regions did not witness major changes. Temperatures were 2°C below normal in certain interior areas, while coastal Odisha saw slightly higher temperatures by 2°C in a few locations. Elsewhere, temperatures stayed near normal.
Night temperatures varied across the state. Some areas saw an appreciable drop of around 3°C, while others experienced a rise of 2 to 4°C. Most regions, however, remained stable without major shifts.
