To a scientific education and innovation, Odisha’s Science and Technology Minister, Krushna Chandra Patra, has announced that science-focused projects will be initiated in every district of the state.
The initiative aims to foster scientific temperament and create future-ready talent across Odisha.
As part of the plan, planetariums are being constructed in all districts, with several nearing completion and expected to be inaugurated soon. The minister emphasised that these facilities will serve as hubs for space education and public engagement.
In a unique move to inspire young minds, the state government is sending 30 budding scientists to ISRO every year. These students get the opportunity to visit space centres and gain firsthand knowledge of India’s space missions and research.
Additionally, the Bhubaneswar Planetarium is set to undergo a major restoration, further strengthening the capital’s role in science outreach.
“Our goal is to cultivate more scientists from Odisha and make science accessible to all,” said Minister Patra, underlining the government’s commitment to scientific growth and innovation.
