The Odisha government has scheduled a high-level meeting to review and streamline the rules surrounding apartment registration under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, or RERA. The meeting, chaired by the Chief Secretary, will be held on Wednesday afternoon at Lok Seva Bhawan.
Official sources confirmed that five major issues will be on the agenda, including project approvals, apartment ownership rights, registration procedures, and improved coordination among departments involved in real estate regulation.
Senior officials from the Housing & Urban Development, Revenue, and Forest & Environment departments will attend, along with representatives from ORERA, Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Town Planning, and WATCO.
The state government aims to enhance transparency and accountability in the real estate sector. The meeting is also expected to establish clearer timelines for registration and ensure legal compliance for ongoing and upcoming housing projects.
Officials emphasized the government’s commitment to protecting homebuyers’ interests by enforcing RERA norms and fostering inter-agency cooperation for smooth implementation.
