Following heightened tensions between India and Pakistan over the Pahalgam attack, Jammu remains in turmoil, leading to the closure of educational institutions.
Amid this crisis, three Odisha students studying at the Central Sanskrit University in Jammu have safely returned home, thanks to coordinated efforts between the Central and State governments.
Initially, some students chose to stay despite the deteriorating conditions. However, as the situation escalated, university officials arranged transportation to Delhi for stranded students. With collaborative efforts from the Delhi and Odisha governments, two students from Balasore and one from Baripada were sent back to Odisha, arriving at Balasore Railway Station.
The students—Hena Mangal, Gitanjali Jena, and Jasmita Nayak—shared their harrowing experiences, describing loud explosions at night that kept them in a state of fear. Fortunately, they were provided with food, transportation, and other essentials by government authorities.
Local transportation officials confirmed that additional students from Odisha, still stranded in Jammu, will be returning soon. The Odisha government has assured further support, ensuring safe evacuation for all affected students.
