Farah Khan has responded to social media users who accused her of being biased towards Shreya Kalra during Lock Upp season 2.
Shreya emerged as the winner of the Netflix reality show last week after beating Shivangi Joshi in the finale. Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh presented her with the winner’s trophy and the ₹1 crore prize.
Following the finale, some viewers questioned the result and argued that other finalists, including Shivangi and Yogesh Rawat, were more deserving. Farah was also criticised online, with some users alleging that she had favoured Shreya during the season.
Farah asks Shreya about their connection
In a recent vlog, Farah visited Shreya’s home in Mumbai and directly addressed the controversy.
Farah asked Shreya whether they had known each other before Lock Upp 2. Shreya said they had not.
Farah then explained that she only discovered a connection between them after viewers began accusing her of favouritism.
According to Farah, both she and Shreya’s YouTube management were associated with Qyuki, a company that manages several content creators. Farah said she contacted the team after seeing the online comments and learned that Shreya was also associated with the company.
Farah questioned how she could have favoured Shreya when she did not know her before the show.
Shreya recalls Farah’s criticism during the show
Shreya also had her own explanation for why viewers may have perceived a connection between the two.
She told Farah that the host had singled her out during the early weeks of the show. Shreya recalled being criticised by Farah even when she believed she was performing well.
Shreya also mentioned an incident involving Akanksha Choudhary, claiming Farah had told her not to become too confident because she appeared better than Akanksha rather than standing out on her own.
Farah reacted playfully to the comments, and the two laughed during the conversation.
Shreya Kalra wins Lock Upp season 2
Shreya eventually won Lock Upp season 2 after the final decision involved votes from jailers, former inmates and the Janta Ki Jury.
She defeated Shivangi Joshi in the final stage and lifted the Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa trophy.
Shreya became emotional after her name was announced as the winner, while Shivangi appeared disappointed with the result. Shreya’s close friend Shilpa Shinde was also seen celebrating the victory emotionally.
