By 8:30 AM, the recorded temperature stood at 33.4°C, indicating a severe heatwave gripping the region. Other coastal cities also experienced extreme conditions, with Balasore leading at 34.8°C, followed by Puri at 34.6°C, Chandbali at 33.4°C, and Paradip at 32.8°C.
Meteorologists warn that heatwave conditions may persist, urging residents to take precautions against dehydration and heat-related illnesses.
Authorities advise staying indoors during peak hours, wearing light clothing, and consuming plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.
