The Government of Odisha’s Home Department issued a notification on November 1, 2026, announcing the transfer and new postings of several senior IPS and OPS officers across the state.
According to the official notification, Susanta Kumar Nath, IPS (RR 1993), who was serving as the Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services, Odisha, has been posted as the OSD, Home Department.
Meanwhile, Dr Santosh Bala, IPS (RR 1995), Director of S.F.S.L., Odisha, Bhubaneswar, has been allowed to remain in additional charge of Addl. D.G., Prisons & Director, Correctional Services, Odisha. Amitabh Thakur, IPS (RR 1998), remains Transport Commissioner, Odisha, Kataka.
