Odisha has reported a total of seven Covid-19 positive cases, with two new infections detected on Saturday, according to the State Health Department.
Health Secretary Aswathy S reassured the public that the current variant is mild, and all patients are under treatment and expected to recover soon. “We have control over the situation at the moment. The variant currently spreading is not severe, so there is no need to panic,” she stated.
She also mentioned that one more individual is showing similar symptoms, though official confirmation is awaited.
The Health Secretary urged citizens to stay cautious due to the changing weather conditions with the onset of monsoon in Odisha. She emphasized the importance of self-care and hygiene to prevent any further spread.
As per national data, India currently has 2,710 active Covid-19 cases and seven deaths, including one recent fatality reported in Delhi.
