Odisha secured its first Ranji Trophy victory of the season by defeating Nagaland by 299 runs in a commanding performance.

Odisha dominated the match and claimed a decisive win over Nagaland. In the second innings, Nagaland collapsed for 165 runs, handing Odisha a comfortable margin of victory. The bowlers delivered a strong performance, with Govinda Poddar taking five wickets and Badal Biswal adding three wickets to seal the result.

Batting also shone for Odisha. Swastik Samal scored a century that anchored the team’s innings and earned him the Player of the Match award. His knock provided the stability and momentum Odisha needed to outclass Nagaland.

The team’s combined effort reflected a balance between batting and bowling. Odisha’s bowlers dismantled Nagaland’s batting lineup, while the batsmen ensured a commanding lead. The victory lifted Odisha’s morale and gave them crucial points in the Ranji Trophy standings.

With this win, Odisha climbed to sixth place in the table, collecting seven points from five matches. The result marked a turning point in their campaign, as the team had struggled earlier in the season. The players expressed confidence that this victory would inspire stronger performances in upcoming fixtures.

Odisha’s first Ranji Trophy win of the season highlighted the team’s resilience and determination. The commanding margin of 299 runs demonstrated their ability to dominate both with bat and ball. Fans celebrated the triumph, hoping it would pave the way for more success in the tournament.
