The Government of Odisha Home Department on Tuesday notified the promotion of 15 Odisha Police Service (OPS) officers from Additional Superintendent of Police [OPS (SB)] to Superintendent of Police in the Super Time Scale [OPS (S)].
The order places the officers in the pay scale of Rs 78,800–2,09,200 per month (Level-14 of the Pay Matrix under ORSP Rules, 2017). The promotions are on an ad hoc basis for one year from the date each officer actually joins the higher post, or until retirement, or until the Odisha Public Service Commission’s recommendation is received and accepted by the Government — whichever is earlier.
All 15 officers have been allowed to continue in their present places of posting until further orders. The posts they currently hold have been declared equivalent to the rank of OPS (S) for as long as they remain in those assignments.

The move regularises senior leadership across districts, specialised units (CID, Vigilance, Intelligence, STF, IUCAW) and the police commissionerate while keeping officers in their existing operational roles for the time being.
