Inspector General of Police, Central Range, along with SP Puri, Addl. SP, and City DSP, visited Shri Lokanath Temple today to review safety and security arrangements for Kaudia devotees during the ongoing pilgrimage season.
The review focused on ensuring a safe, orderly, and spiritually enriching experience for devotees.
Key Highlights:
- Crowd Management: Entry and exit points have been barricaded to regulate movement and ensure smooth darshan.
- Traffic Regulation: Special traffic arrangements are in place, with NH patrolling across three stretches from Uttara to Malatipatpur, Puri, to prevent congestion.
- Devotee Facilitation: Officers have been directed to provide guidance, drinking water, medical aid, and assistance to elderly and divyang devotees.
- Force Deployment: Fourteen platoons of police have been deployed in and around Puri city and the temple area, supervised round‑the‑clock by senior officers.
Odisha Police emphasised its commitment to integrating traditional faith with modern policing to make the Kaudia Yatra safe and peaceful. Devotees have been requested to cooperate with police personnel, follow queue systems, and seek help at designated police desks when needed.
