Odisha Police has intensified surveillance and security measures across coastal and border districts to prevent any possible illegal entry of Bangladeshi nationals into the state.

Authorities have launched enhanced monitoring operations in vulnerable regions as part of a broader effort to strengthen border and coastal security.

Coastal and Border Vigilance Intensified

The Odisha Marine Police has issued alerts and increased patrolling activities along the state’s coastline and other sensitive areas. Security agencies are conducting regular verification drives to identify suspicious movements and ensure that any unlawful entry attempts are detected at the earliest stage.

Officials said the heightened vigilance is a preventive measure aimed at safeguarding Odisha’s territorial boundaries and maintaining public safety.

Fishermen Asked to Assist Security Agencies

Recognising the importance of community participation, authorities have urged deep-sea fishermen to remain vigilant and report any unusual activities or unidentified individuals spotted in coastal waters.

Fishermen often serve as the first line of observation in remote maritime areas, making their cooperation crucial in strengthening real-time intelligence gathering and coastal monitoring efforts.

Special Monitoring in Bhadrak District

Security checks have been strengthened in Bhadrak district, where personnel from Kasia Marine Police Station are closely monitoring people arriving from neighbouring regions and conducting detailed verification of suspected individuals.

Officials stated that surveillance operations are being carried out systematically to ensure that any unauthorized movement is identified and investigated promptly.

Multi-Agency Coordination Underway

The ongoing security initiative involves close coordination among Odisha Police, Marine Police units and local communities. Authorities are combining resources and intelligence inputs to enhance monitoring capabilities across coastal and border regions.

Officials emphasized that these measures are precautionary in nature and are intended to maintain law and order while protecting the state from potential security risks.

Focus on Preventive Security Measures

The intensified surveillance comes amid growing concerns over illegal cross-border movements in eastern India. Odisha authorities have reiterated their commitment to ensuring coastal safety through continuous monitoring, verification drives and community engagement.

Police officials have assured residents that security agencies remain fully prepared to respond to any potential threat while ensuring normal life and lawful activities continue without disruption.

With strengthened coastal patrolling, increased intelligence gathering and active public participation, Odisha is reinforcing its security framework to safeguard its coastline and border areas against illegal infiltration.
