Odisha Police has extended financial assistance of Rs 6.55 lakh to the family of late Home Guard Pradeep Kumar Martha, who passed away on April 24, 2026, while undergoing treatment at Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar.
The amount, contributed by IPS officers of Odisha, was handed over to Martha’s wife Urmila Martha by DG (Anti‑Naxal Operations) Sanjeeb Panda in the presence of IG (Operations) Deepak Kumar at a simple ceremony held at the Operations Headquarters.
Earlier, Urmila Martha had received Rs 4 lakh ex gratia from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on June 17, 2026, and Rs 1.12 lakh from the Retired IPS Officers’ Association, presented by its president LC Amarnathan on June 18, 2026. Most recently, on August 15, 2026, she was also appointed as a Home Guard in the Bhubaneswar‑Cuttack Police Commissionerate.
