Bhubaneswar: About 43 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 12 PM in the second phase of polling held on Friday in Odisha. This was informed by Rabindra Sahu, Secretary, State Election Commission (SEC).
As per the data released by the official, about 43 per cent of voters have turned up to exercise their adult franchise till 12 PM today. Meanwhile, Kotia recorded a voter turnout over 40% till 12 PM, the official added.
On the other hand, several incidents of vote boycott and other irregularities have been reported from across the State.
Poll violence has also been reported from two booths.
The fate of as many as 747 Zilla Parishad candidates will be sealed in ballot boxes in the second phase of Panchayat Polls-2022.
The first phase of the three-tier panchayat elections began in Odisha today with adherence to COVID-19 safety norms.
The polls will be held in five phases on February 16, 18, 20, 22, and 24.
