The Odisha High School Certificate (HSC) examinations for 2026, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), concluded smoothly on March 2 across 3,082 centres statewide.
The exams began on February 19 and were closely monitored through live surveillance from a central command control room. BSE President Srikant Tarai confirmed that no cases of malpractice or violations were reported. “Barring some trivial issues in certain centres, the examinations concluded smoothly,” he said.
Evaluation of objective OMR sheets has already started, while assessment of subjective papers will commence on March 19. Around 14,000 to 15,000 teachers will participate in the process at 51 evaluation centres across Odisha. If the schedule proceeds without disruption, results are expected in the first or second week of May.
In a student-friendly initiative, BSE plans to provide digital certificates and marksheets online for easier access. Officials assured that the evaluation process will remain error-free, with strict measures to maintain accuracy and integrity.
This year’s examinations featured enhanced security measures, including AI-integrated monitoring, QR codes, and watermarks on question papers. These innovations contributed to the hassle-free conduct of the exams, reinforcing transparency and fairness.
