Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan reacted strongly to reports of obscene dance performances during Jatra shows in the state.
He emphasised that public opinion in Odisha is clear—such performances should not take place.
The minister stated that, similar to Chhattisgarh, Odisha may also initiate strict action against organisers if they allow obscene dance in Jatra. He confirmed that organisers and Jatra party owners have already been informed about the government’s stance.
The Culture Department and the state government have communicated the matter clearly. Harichandan warned that if obscene dance continues, organisers will face consequences.
