Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi spent Diwali, 8 November 2026, in his home district of Kendujhar, conducting a public grievance hearing to directly address citizens’ concerns and review local development projects.

The public outreach event was held at the Circuit House in Kendujhar, drawing hundreds of residents from across the district who submitted petitions regarding local infrastructure, public services, and administrative issues.

Direct Grievance Redressal & Departmental Directives

The Chief Minister personally reviewed the petitions and issued strict instructions to local government officials:

  • Patient Interaction: Majhi spent several hours listening to grievances from visiting delegations and individual petitioners.
  • Time-Bound Resolution: The Chief Minister directed departmental heads and district officials to process all submitted applications promptly and deliver resolutions within stipulated timeframes.
  • Festive Public Outreach: Combining governance duties with festive celebrations, Majhi highlighted his administration’s focus on maintaining direct contact with rural communities.

“Government machinery must remain accessible and responsive. Every public grievance submitted today must be processed and resolved within strict timelines.”
— Mohan Charan Majhi, Chief Minister of Odisha

Infrastructure & Multi-Sector Development Drive

Alongside the grievance session, the Chief Minister inaugurated a series of completed public utility projects and laid foundation stones for fresh welfare initiatives across Kendujhar district:

  1. Irrigation & Water Access: Laying foundation stones for major agricultural water projects aimed at expanding crop yields across rural blocks.
  2. Healthcare & Education: Inaugurating upgraded community health facilities and laying foundations for modern tribal residential schools.
  3. District Connectivity: Launching localized road improvement and public building projects to boost grassroots infrastructure.
