The Odisha government has declined to accept the resignation of Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jagmohan Meena.
A 2013-batch IPS officer of the Odisha cadre, Meena had submitted his resignation in July citing personal reasons.
Meena clarified that his decision was taken after discussions with family and friends, stressing that there was no external pressure or political interference. With 13 years of service, he requested privacy and respect for his choice.
An alumnus of IIT Kanpur and UPSC rank-holder (AIR 849), Meena has served in key positions across Odisha, including SP of Anugola, Ganjam, and Malkangiri, and DCP of Cuttack. He assumed charge as Bhubaneswar DCP on February 28, 2025.
Reports suggest he may join a family-run enterprise in Rajasthan, though Meena emphasised that his plans are entirely personal. For now, his resignation remains unaccepted, keeping him in his current role.
