The Government of Odisha has officially declared the regularisation of Junior Teachers (Schematic) engaged during the 2023-24 academic session.
The School and Mass Education Department issued a formal notification in this regard, bringing much-awaited cheer to thousands of teachers serving in primary and upper primary schools.
According to the notification, the Junior Teachers (Schematic) who were appointed through due recruitment processes and have been continuing in service will now be regularised as Assistant Teachers in Level-V(A) of the Elementary Cadre.
The regularisation comes with a retrospective financial benefit. The eligible teachers will be entitled to draw regular pay and other admissible service benefits in the Level-V(A) scale with effect from January 1, 2026.
However, the notification clarifies that the period of service rendered by these teachers from their initial date of joining up to December 31, 2025, will continue to be treated as service rendered in a schematic or contractual capacity. This prior period will not confer any rights to claim regular cadre seniority or consequential regular service benefits for that specific timeframe.
