Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced an increase in the daily wage of all the Village Resource Persons of the state.
Accordingly, daily wages of Village Resource Persons have increased from Rs 300 to Rs 400. Along with this, they will also get an additional Rs 100 towards travel expenses.
Thus, the Village Resource Persons will get a total of Rs 500 daily. This will benefit 10,000 Village Resource Persons of the state. For this, the state government will bear an additional cost of Rs 2.88 crore.
During the visit of 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Karthik Pandian to the districts, a proposal was made in this regard by the Village Resource Persons. After coming to know about this, the Chief Minister has decided to increase the salary of Village Resource Persons.
It is worth noting that these instrumentalists working in ‘Odisha Social Audit, Accountability and Sanitation Committee’ under the State Panchayatiraj and Drinking Water Department are conducting Social Audit of various important government programs such as MGNREGA, Pucca House, Food Security, Mid-Day Meals, playing a vital role in maintaining transparency. A large number of Mission Shakti women are engaged in this.
