Odisha Govt Announces Major Transfers and Postings of IFS Officers

In a major administrative reshuffle, the Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department of the Odisha Government has announced the transfer and posting of several Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers.


The changes, aimed at enhancing forest and wildlife management, were confirmed in a notification issued recently.

Smt. Uma Nanduri (IFS) has been appointed as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Kendu Leaf), Odisha. Her assignment follows her return from central deputation. The additional charge previously held by Shri Prem Kumar Jha (IFS) has been terminated with immediate effect.

Shri Prem Kumar Jha (IFS) takes over as Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden, Odisha, with an additional responsibility as Managing Director of Odisha Forest Development Corporation Ltd.

Other significant appointments include:

  • Dr. K. Murugesan, IFS (RR-1994): Appointed as Additional PCCF, FD-cum-Nodal Officer, FC Act, in the Office of PCCF & HoFF, Odisha.
  • Shri Manoj V. Nair, IFS (RR-2001): Retains the role of Director at Nandankanan Biological Park with additional responsibilities as CEO of CAMPA.
  • Shri G. Rajesh, IFS (RR-2001): Posted as In-charge Director of Environment and Special Secretary to the Government, Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department.
  • Shri M. Yogajayananda, IFS (RR-2005): Assigned as RCCF, Bhubaneswar Circle, while continuing as Chief Executive of Chilika Development Authority.
  • Shri Sanjaya Kumar Swain, IFS (RR-2009): Transferred to RCCF, Angul Circle.
  • Shri Sudhansu Sekhar Khora, IFS (RR-2009): Appointed as Member Secretary, OSPCB, Bhubaneswar.
  • Shri P. Arthanari, IFS (RR-2011): Assigned as Conservator of Forests (KL), Cuttack KL Circle, along with General Manager responsibilities at OFDC Ltd., Bhubaneswar.
  • Shri Vishwanath Neelannavar, IFS (RR-2011): Transferred to In-charge RCCF, Berhampur Circle.
  • Shri Anurag Mishra, IFS (RR-2020): Posted as DFO (KL), Phulbani.
  • Shri K. Nagaraju, IFS (RR-2022): Designated as In-charge DFO, Parlakhemundi Division.
  • Ms. Rashmi G., IFS (RR-2022): Assigned as In-charge DFO, Titilagarh (KL) Division.
  • Shri Ramesh Kumar, IFS (RR-2022): Posted as In-charge DFO, Kalahandi (North) Division.
  • Shri Elavarasan K., IFS (RR-2022): Appointed as In-charge DFO, Rairakhol Division.

The notification emphasizes the importance of these postings in strengthening forest and wildlife management across the state.
