The Odisha government has intensified its preparedness as a deep depression forms over the Bay of Bengal, raising concerns about the possible development of Cyclone Montha.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi is closely monitoring the situation, ensuring that all departments are ready to respond promptly. Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra confirmed that officials have been instructed to remain vigilant and proactive.
Key measures taken by the administration include:

“Our government is fully alert to manage any eventuality. The Chief Minister is personally overseeing preparedness measures, while the Revenue and Law Ministers are also actively monitoring the situation,” said Minister Mahapatra.
Officials emphasized that all departments, including the Principal Secretary, are working together to ensure the public does not face inconvenience, highlighting a commitment to safety and inclusivity for all residents.
Residents, especially those in flood-prone and coastal areas, are advised to stay updated on official advisories and follow instructions from local authorities to ensure safety.
