In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Odisha on June 20, 2025, a state-level preparatory meeting was convened today at the Lok Seva Bhawan conference hall in Bhubaneswar under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.
The meeting focused on meticulous planning to ensure the smooth execution of the Prime Minister’s itinerary, marking the first anniversary of the Odisha government led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
According to the agenda, Prime Minister Modi will arrive at Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport at 3:40 PM on June 20, travelling from Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, via a special Indian Air Force flight. At 3:45 PM, he will participate in a grand roadshow from the airport to Janata Maidan, reaching the venue by 4:15 PM.
The event at Janata Maidan will celebrate the Odisha government’s achievements over the past year. The Prime Minister will deliver a keynote address and inaugurate various public welfare initiatives. The program will conclude by 5:35 PM, and the Prime Minister will depart from Bhubaneswar airport at 5:50 PM.
The preparatory meeting emphasised comprehensive security, logistics, and hospitality arrangements. Chief Secretary Ahuja directed all departments to ensure disciplined and efficient execution of the visit. Security arrangements will be overseen by Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania and the Inspector General of Police, with the Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police managing local security from the airport to the event venue. Additional measures include fire services, medical facilities, road repairs, sanitation, stage setup, and media coordination. A dedicated control room under the Home Department’s Additional Chief Secretary (Protocol) will monitor operations.
Cultural programs will be organised at key locations along the route, including the airport, AG Square, Raj Bhavan, Kalinga Stadium Square, Jaydev Vihar Square, and Janata Maidan, to showcase Odisha’s rich heritage. Arrangements for the Prime Minister’s reception, temporary stay at Raj Bhavan, and media facilities, including internet connectivity, were also discussed. With a large public turnout expected, the administration stressed maintaining order and efficiency throughout the event.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Satyabrata Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma, senior police officials, the Khordha District Collector, and representatives from various departments and institutions.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit is set to highlight the Odisha government’s milestones and strengthen its connection with the public through impactful welfare programs.
