Bhubaneswar: Odisha Forest and Environment Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh has unveiled “Mo Jungle” and “Know Your Forest Land” Mobile Apps here on Friday.
Unveiling the Apps at Lok Seva Bhavan in a brief function, Arukh said the introduction of mobile Apps is part of the 5T programme of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and added that this will enable the people to get to know about afforestation activities undertaken by the forest department to save the ecology.
The people can give their feedback through the mobile apps, the Minister added.
The Minister said through the mobile apps a person can have the information about forest land and other details including the registration number of forest land, village, GPs and police station.
The apps were prepared with the joint cooperation of Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, IT, GIS Cell and ORSAC. This can be downloaded from Google Play Store and iOS.
The Minister said transparency is being maintained as far as forest management is concerned and added that direct benefit transfer of funds is being done who are providing services to the forest wing.
The app launching programme was attended by Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and Development Commissioner Pradip Jena.
Additional Chief Secretary Dr Mona Sharma delivered the welcome address, while Principal Conservator of Forest Sandip Tripathy proposed the vote of thanks. All the DFOs had attended the meet virtually.
