Odisha Effects Major Reshuffle in IPS Cadres; Twin Cities Get New DCPs

Major Reshuffle in IPS Cadres

In a significant reshuffle, the Odisha Government has announced the transfer of several Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to new positions.


The changes were notified in an official release dated February 28, 2025.

  1. S.M. Narvane has been appointed as Special Director General (DG) of the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC).
  2. Diptesh Kumar Pattanaik has been posted as Director of Printing, Stationary, and Publication, Odisha, Cuttack.
  3. Yatindra Koyal has been transferred to the position of Additional Director General (ADG) of Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC).
  4. S. Praveen Kumar has been appointed as Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Central Range, Cuttack.
  5. Narsingha Bhol has been posted as Additional CP, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack.
  6. Dr. Deepak Kumar has been assigned the role of IGP, Operations.
  7. Jai Narayan Pankaj will now serve as IGP, Intelligence.
  8. Sarthak Sarangi has been transferred and posted as IGP, CID-CB.
  9. Niti Shekhar has been posted as IGP, Southern Range.
  10. Dr. Umashankar Dash has been appointed DIG, Home Guards and Fire Services.
  11. Akhileshwar Singh has been transferred and posted as DIG, South Western Range.
  12. Charan Singh Meena has been transferred and posted as DIG, Provisioning
  13. Pinak Mishra has been transferred to the position of Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Special Task Force (STF), Bhubaneswar.
  14. Jugal Kishore Kumar Banoth has been posted as DIG, Personnel.
  15. Batula Gangadhar has been posted as DIG, CID-CB.
  16. Jagmohan Meena will now serve as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Bhubaneswar.
  17. Vivekananda Sharma has been assigned the role of SP, Railways, Cuttack.
  18. Rishikesh Khilari Dnyandeo will now serve as DCP, Cuttack
  19. Abilash G has been posted as SP, Bolangir.
  20. Nagaraj Deverkonda is now SP, Kalahandi.
  21. Rahul Goel will now serve as SP, Boudh.
  22. Ankit Kumar Verma has been assigned the role of Additional DCP, Bhubaneswar UPD.
  23. Kashyap Partha Jagdish, IPS Probationer, has been posted as SDPO, Jeypore.
  24. Amritpal Singh will now serve as Additional DCP, Bhubaneswar UPD.
  25. Sonali Singh Parmar has been transferred as ACP, Bhubaneswar UPD.

The government has instructed all the transferred officers to assume their new duties with immediate effect.

This reshuffle aims to enhance law enforcement capabilities and improve public administration in the state.
