In a powerful symbol of Odisha’s accelerating industrial transformation, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday inaugurated the advanced manufacturing unit of We-Track India Private Limited at Infovel-II, Khordha.
The facility, focused on smart infrastructure and AI-driven solutions, has already positioned the home-grown Odia brand as the fourth-largest weighbridge manufacturer in India.
Proudly highlighting that the company was founded by an Odia entrepreneur on Odisha’s soil, CM Majhi congratulated the entire We-Track India team. “This is a matter of immense pride for the state,” he said. “From a local startup to a national leader in smart infrastructure and AI — this is the new Odisha story.”
The Chief Minister used the occasion to paint a bold vision for the state’s future. “After our government came to power, a true industrial revolution is sweeping Odisha,” he declared. While the state was earlier known primarily for mining-based industries, the current government has successfully attracted massive investments in sunrise sectors such as AI, semiconductors, textiles, and pharmaceuticals — collectively termed the ‘New Economy’.
He revealed that projects worth nearly ₹2.80 lakh crore have already been grounded, promising more than two lakh direct and indirect jobs in the coming years. “Our target is clear — Odisha will become a $500 billion economy by 2036 and a $1,500 billion economy by 2047,” Majhi stated with conviction.
The CM credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Poorvoday’ (Eastern Rise) vision for playing a pivotal role in this journey. He announced that the state government is now offering ready ‘Plug & Play’ infrastructure to industries and has delegated greater decision-making powers to district collectors to fast-track industrial projects.

Turning to political issues, CM Majhi launched a sharp attack on the Congress and its allies for failing to pass the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam (Women’s Reservation Bill) in the Lok Sabha. “It is extremely unfortunate and amounts to a crime against the women of the country,” he said. “The women of Odisha will never forgive those who opposed this historic legislation.”
Fisheries and Animal Resources Minister Gokulanand Mallick described MSMEs as the backbone of the Indian economy and thanked the Chief Minister for the government’s proactive support in providing land and loans to small industries.
Cooperation Minister Pradip Bal Samant echoed the sentiment, praising the state government’s sincerity towards the MSME sector and declaring that “Odisha has emerged as a leading state for MSME industries.”
We-Track India’s Managing Director Pradeep Kumar Nayak and Senior Union Operator Samir Mahanti were present on the occasion along with senior officials.
With today’s inauguration, Odisha has sent a clear message: the state is no longer content with its old identity — it is aggressively scripting a high-tech, high-growth future driven by innovation, investment, and inclusive development. The second industrial revolution in Odisha has officially begun.
