The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha has officially declared the Class 10 (High School Certificate) examination results for 2026.
The announcement was made at the board’s office in Cuttack in the presence of School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond.
This year, the state recorded an impressive overall pass percentage of 95.33%, reflecting strong academic performance across districts.
Over 5.19 Lakh Students Pass the Examination
A total of 5,19,251 students in the regular category successfully cleared the examination. This includes:
- 2,56,099 boys
- 2,63,152 girls
Among all districts, Gajapati district emerged as the top performer with an outstanding 99.31% pass rate.
Grade Distribution Highlights
The results showed a wide distribution of grades among students:
- A1: 2,453 students
- A2: 15,684 students
- B1: 43,565 students
- B2: 86,103 students
- C: 1,29,813 students
- D: 1,46,152 students
- E: 95,481 students
- F: 17,055 students
In the ex-regular category, 217 out of 1,433 students passed, resulting in a 14.16% pass rate.

New Initiative: Certificates in Odia and English
In a first, the board has introduced bilingual certificates. Students will now receive their certificates in both Odia and English, promoting inclusivity and accessibility.
Exam Overview and Previous Year Comparison
This year, 5,61,979 students appeared for the exams conducted across 3,082 centres between February 19 and March 2, 2026.
For comparison, the pass percentage in 2025 stood slightly higher at 96.7%, indicating a marginal decline this year.
Other Exam Results Announced
The board also released results for:
- State Open School Certificate (SOSC): 59.82% pass rate
- Madhyama Examination: 87.3% pass rate
