The Government of Odisha is making a significant and aspirational presence at Wings India 2026, Asia’s largest civil aviation event, with its dedicated pavilion themed “Odisha Takes Flight.” This theme reflects the State’s expanding role in India’s aviation growth story.

At the Odisha Pavilion, visitors can learn about how the State is developing a future-ready, inclusive, and investment-friendly aviation ecosystem. This is driven by progressive policies, expanding regional and international connectivity, focused skills initiatives, and long-term infrastructure planning.

The pavilion showcases Odisha’s vision of “Aviation for All,” highlighting opportunities in airport development, aviation training, the drone ecosystem, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) potential, and human capital development. All of these align with the State’s long-term roadmap under Viksit Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047.

To add momentum to the State’s participation, Principal Secretary of Commerce & Transport Department, Usha Padhee, IAS, participated as a panellist in the “Women in Aviation” Round Table Session. This reinforces Odisha’s commitment to gender-inclusive growth and leadership across the aviation value chain. Padhee emphasised the State’s focus on encouraging girls to explore careers in aviation early on, and on creating an enabling ecosystem for women to enter, grow, and lead in the sector through collaboration among departments and partners.

As part of its skill-development approach, the Commerce & Transport Department signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to enhance aviation training infrastructure in Odisha. One MoU with M/s Alchemist Aviation will facilitate the establishment of a Flying Training Organisation (FTO) at Dandbose Airport in Mayurbhanj, with an annual training capacity of approximately 50 pilots. Another MoU with M/s BonV Aero will enable the creation of a UAV (Drone) Training and Testing Centre at Rangeilinda Airstrip in Berhampur—the first such facility in the State—capable of training over 100 UAV pilots each year.

Odisha’s aviation development strategy emphasises public-private partnerships for infrastructure, coordinated policy support, and long-term sustainability to enhance regional connectivity and promote inclusive growth. Together, these initiatives represent the State’s comprehensive approach to strengthening the aviation value chain through collaboration, people-centric planning, and institutional convergence.

Visitors are invited to explore Odisha’s aviation journey at Hall C, Stall No. 25-C, at Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad, from January 28 to 31, 2026, during Wings India 2026. This year’s theme is “Indian Aviation: Paving the Future — from Design to Deployment, Manufacture to Maintenance, Inclusivity to Innovation.”
