Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy has convened an all-party meeting on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming winter session of the state Assembly.
The winter session will begin on Thursday, November 27, and continue until Wednesday, December 31. During the meeting, the Speaker will hold discussions with leaders of all parties. Consequently, she aims to encourage constructive debate and maintain decorum in the House.
Session Calendar
According to the provisional calendar released on November 10, the fifth session of the seventh Assembly will allocate:
- 19 days for Official Business
- 5 days for Private Members’ Business, including Bills and Resolutions
Thus, lawmakers will have a structured schedule to address both government and private legislative matters.
Presidential Address
On the opening day, President Droupadi Murmu will address the Assembly. Her speech will mark the formal beginning of the winter session and set the tone for upcoming deliberations.
Purpose of the Meeting
The all-party meeting comes ahead of crucial legislative discussions. Moreover, it seeks to foster a collaborative atmosphere among lawmakers and ensure that proceedings remain orderly and productive throughout the session.
