Bhubaneswar: The budget session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly will begin on Monday and continue till September 13 in two phases. The Assembly session will last for 27 working days and the budget for the financial year 2024-25 will be tabled in the House on July 25.
Before the commencement of the Assembly sessions, DGP Arun Sarangi inspected the security arrangements on Sunday. DGP along with Director of Intelligence Saumendra Priyadarshi, Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda, IG Intelligence Anup Sahu, DCP Prateek Singh and other senior officers inspected the security arrangements.
Extensive security arrangements have been made by the Commissionerate Police for this session of the state assembly. 3-tier security has been deployed in the assembly and surrounding areas with 30 platoon forces will be guarding the assembly during the budget session. In addition, SOG, striking force, bomb disposal squad, QAT, dog squad, fire department etc. are keeping a close watch on all aspects while CCTV has been installed from the Assembly to Lower PMG, Rabindra Mandap Street and adjoining roads.
From the demonstrations to the suspects, the movement of everyone will be closely monitored. To further tighten security, 5 temporary police control rooms have been set up at 5 places like Assembly Gate, Rabindra Mandap Gate, and Lower PMG.
In addition, 6 additional DCPs, 19 ACPs, 24 inspectors, 85 sub-inspectors are in charge of security under the leadership of DCP Bhubaneswar. Armed security forces will be on round-the-clock guarding around the assembly and the road routes has been diverted
In addition, special security arrangements have been made for the residence of the Chief Minister due to its proximity to the Lower PMG where demonstrations and rallies are held during the assembly session.
