The Government of Odisha, General Administration & Public Grievance Department, has issued a series of notifications announcing promotions of Indian Police Service (IPS) officers under the IPS (Pay) Rules, 2016, effective from January 1, 2026.
DIG Promotions:
Madkar Sandeep Sampat (RR-2012) has been promoted to the grade of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police in Level-13A of the Pay Matrix and posted in-situ. Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra (RR-2012), currently on Central Deputation, has been granted proforma promotion to the same grade.
Additional DG Promotions:
Shyni S (RR-2001) has been promoted to Additional Director General (ADG) of Police in Level-15, while Dr. Soorya Thankappan (RR-2001), on Central Deputation, has been granted proforma promotion to the same grade.
IG Promotions:
Senior officers of the 2008 batch, Satyajit Naik and Dr. Umashankar Dash, have been promoted to the grade of Inspector General (IG) of Police in Level-14 of the Pay Matrix. Prakash R., also of the 2008 batch and on Central Deputation, has been granted proforma promotion to IG.
Selection Grade Promotions:
Officers of the 2013 batch, including Jagmohan Meena, Parmar Smit Parshottamdas, and Mukesh Kumar Bhamoo, have been promoted to the Selection Grade in Level-13 of the Pay Matrix. On Central Deputation, Rahul P. R., Anupama James, and L. Divya V. have been accorded proforma promotions.
Junior Administrative Grade:
Three officers of the 2017 batch — Swathy S. Kumar, Siddharth Kataria, and Prahlad Sahai Meena — have been promoted to the Junior Administrative Grade in Level-12 of the Pay Matrix.
