A tragic incident unfolded at the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) on Friday, where a 20-year-old nursing student, Romeo Ranjan Samal, was found hanging under mysterious circumstances.
Romeo, the only son of hospital employee Mritunjaya Samal, was discovered in the dressing room of the surgery ward, reportedly using a bedsheet to hang himself from a ceiling fan.
While the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed, preliminary reports suggest Romeo may have taken the extreme step after suffering financial losses in an online game. The incident occurred when no one else was present in the room, and police are currently investigating all possible angles, including digital activity and mental health history.
