The fourth edition of the Odisha Polytechnic Ranking for the year 2023-2024 was officially released today by Skill Development, Technical Education and Industry Minister Sampad Chandra Swain at the auditorium of the State Council for Technical Education & Training (SCTE&VT).

Bhubanananda Odisha School of Engineering (BOSE), Cuttack, emerged as the top-ranked institution in the state. The ranking process was conducted by the National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET) team of the Quality Council of India (QCI). Results were thoroughly reviewed by a Grievance Redressal Committee, Core Grading Committee, and an Appellate Committee constituted under SCTE&VT.

The ranking framework covers both government and private polytechnics, evaluating them on infrastructure, teaching-learning processes, and innovative initiatives, with the aim of motivating institutions to continuously improve quality and performance.

Speaking at the event, Minister Swain highlighted the critical role of technical education in Odisha’s development. He noted that the ranking system has significantly contributed to making the state’s youth industry-ready while fostering creativity among students. The Minister directed all principals to prepare time-bound action plans focusing on overall institutional growth, academic excellence, faculty skill enhancement, stronger industry linkages, optimal infrastructure utilisation, and administrative reforms.

Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Skill Development and Technical Education Department, Bhupendra Singh Poonia, also addressed the gathering, emphasising comprehensive departmental progress, student skill development, and promotion of entrepreneurship.

The programme was attended by Director of Technical Education & Training Chakravarthy Singh Rathore, Additional Secretary of the department Biswaranjan Rath, NABET-QCI CEO Dr. Barinder S Kanwar, and Secretary of the State Council for Technical Education & Training Swapna Kumar Mishra, among other dignitaries.
