Police have arrested Lokesh Sahu in connection with the death of Mamata Majhi, an attendant at Dharambandha PHC, and sent him to custody.
The arrest was confirmed by the Nuapada SDPO, who stated that the investigation is proceeding under relevant sections of the law.
A case had earlier been registered at Dharambandha police station under BNS Sections 103(1) and 3(5). Following the incident, Mamta’s family submitted a written complaint to the Nuapada SP, demanding a neutral and thorough probe.
Family members have insisted that the truth behind Mamta’s death can only be established through scientific examination of her mobile phone, call records, messages, and other digital evidence. They believe this will reveal who she was in contact with before her death and whether others were involved.
With Lokesh Sahu now in custody, all eyes are on the next phase of police investigation. The family and local residents expect the inquiry to uncover the real cause of Mamta’s death and expose any additional complicity if present.
