The Northern Superchargers secured their first-ever Women’s Hundred title with a commanding seven-wicket victory over Southern Brave.
The Brave, who had gone undefeated through the group stage, were handed their first loss in the most crucial match of the tournament.
Australian all-rounder Annabel Sutherland was the standout performer, taking 2-23 with the ball and scoring an unbeaten 28 with the bat. Her partnership of 60 runs with Nicola Carey (35 not out) guided the Superchargers to victory with 12 balls to spare, after a shaky start at 59-3.
Earlier, the Brave were restricted to 115-6, thanks to tight bowling from Sutherland and England’s Kate Cross, who also took 2-23. Despite a promising start, Southern Brave couldn’t recover from the disciplined bowling attack.
Teen sensation Davina Perrin, fresh off a century in the eliminator, contributed 17 before falling to Sophie Devine. The win was celebrated by a packed crowd of 22,542 at the iconic venue, marking a historic moment for the Superchargers.
