The Commissionerate Police conducted a detailed crime scene recreation on Thursday to demonstrate how the notorious burglar ‘Spider Satish’ executed a high-profile theft at the residence of former Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president, Niranjan Patnaik.
Satish, known for his adeptness at scaling buildings, is currently under a three-day police remand. During this period, he was brought to Patnaik’s home to reconstruct the break-in, providing investigators with insights into his methods and escape route.
This exercise aims to fill investigative gaps and strengthen the case against him.
Satish Reddy, alias ‘Spider Satish’, has a history of over 70 burglary cases across multiple states. He meticulously planned his heists using technology, researching affluent targets via Google and YouTube. Favoring residences with sliding windows for easier access, he employed gloves, shoes, and masks to avoid leaving evidence. His proficiency in climbing walls and balconies earned him his moniker. Satish continually adapted his techniques after each arrest, even utilizing self-destructing messaging apps like Snapchat to communicate and evade law enforcement.
The crime scene reconstruction at Patnaik’s residence is a critical component of the ongoing investigation, aiming to provide a comprehensive understanding of Satish’s modus operandi and gather substantial evidence for prosecution.
