Authorities in Boudhagada district rescued nine child labourers during a coordinated crackdown against illegal employment of minors.
The operation, led by the District Labour Department, involved the police, District Child Protection Unit, District Social Welfare Officer, Child Helpline, and NGOs, including Lok Kala Bikash Kendra, Biswa Yuva Kendra, and ICDS.
Teams conducted raids across Boudhagada town, Kantamal, and Harabhanga blocks, inspecting hotels and shops suspected of employing children. Officials also launched awareness drives, educating business owners about child labour laws and the penalties for violations.
After the rescue, the children underwent medical examinations. Authorities then transferred them to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) for rehabilitation and protection. The committee will oversee their reintegration and ensure they receive education and counselling support.
