Vedanta Aluminium organised a community health camp at Sibapadar Gram Panchayat in Lanjigada, reaching over 300 community members from ten neighbouring villages in Kalahandi district.

The initiative provided free doctor consultations, basic health screenings, and essential medicines, enabling early diagnosis and treatment for communities with limited access to reliable healthcare.

The camp included screenings such as blood pressure, weight, and BMI assessments, with a team of three specialist doctors ensuring quality diagnosis, treatment, and personalised guidance across a range of health concerns. It also served as a platform to promote preventive healthcare awareness and educate residents on essential health practices, underlining the importance of timely medical intervention and overall well-being.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Pranab Kumar Bhattacharyya, CEO – Vedanta Aluminium, Lanjigada, said, “We believe accessible healthcare is fundamental to building strong and resilient communities. Through such initiatives, we are committed to delivering essential medical services at the grassroots, promoting preventive care, and enhancing the overall well-being of the communities we serve. Our continued focus is on creating sustainable impact by addressing critical healthcare needs in remote regions.”

Sharing his experience, Mr. Prakash Karasika, Sarpanch of Sibapadar Gram Panchayat, said:

I had been facing ongoing health concerns and found it difficult to access proper medical care due to remote setting. Through Vedanta’s health camp, I was able to consult experienced doctors, receive proper diagnosis, and get the required medicines. This initiative has brought much-needed healthcare support closer to our village and has greatly benefited many people like me.

Through such initiatives, Vedanta Aluminium continues to strengthen its community outreach across healthcare, education, infrastructure, sports, and sustainable livelihoods in its operational regions.

In Kalahandi and Rayagada districts alone, its interventions have benefitted more than 1.2 lakh individuals, reflecting its sustained focus on improving access to essential services and enabling long-term, inclusive development at the grassroots.
