Bhubaneswar: With change in wind pattern, several places in the State recorded a rise in night temperature which is above normal.
Twin City Cuttack and Bhubneswar reported 18.5 degree C and 19.4 Degrees C respectively on Tuesday night, which is 2.9 more than normal, Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre stated.
The weather department attributed the phenomenon to the sea breeze.
Several places of western and southern Odisha also witnessed cold condition despite a rise in mercury level. Many places still recorded temperature below 10 degrees C.
Semiliguda in Koraput district which had witnessed a 7.4 degrees C on Monday night, saw an increase in the mercury level. The temperature rose to 9.1 degrees C last night.
Other places stood above 10 degrees temperature. Korei of Sundergarh, G Udaygiri of Kandhamal, Nabarangpur and Koraput recorded minimum temperature of 10.5, 11,11.5 and 11.5 respectively.
Sundergarh and Jharsuguda saw 12.5 degrees C and 12.8 degrees C respectively.
Similarly, the minimum night temperatures mounted to 13 degrees C in Phulbani and Daringbadi.
Sambalpur’s Chiplima witnessed 13.4 degrees C while district headquarters town of Kalahandi, Bhawanipatna reported 13.8 Degrees C temperature on Tuesday night.
