The Department of Water Resources, Government of Odisha, solemnly observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on Oct 31, 2026, to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, revered nationwide as the “Iron Man of India.”
To mark the occasion, a special pledge-taking ceremony was organised at Rajiv Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. The event witnessed active participation from all senior officers, administrative personnel, and departmental staff members, who gathered to pay homage to Sardar Patel’s visionary leadership and his foundational contributions toward the political integration and territorial integrity of modern India.
During the ceremony, participants formally took the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge, solemnly reaffirming their dedication to preserving the sovereignty, unity, and internal security of the country.
Officials underscored the collective duty of public servants to uphold these founding ideals and to continuously foster a sense of harmony, solidarity, and mutual trust among citizens.
The observance highlighted the department’s shared resolve to contribute toward nationwide progress and security while honouring the enduring vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
