Police arrested a man in Nabarangpur district for killing his wife and concealing her body inside a toilet septic tank after his four-year-old son revealed the crime.

The incident occurred in Bargaon village under Raighar police limits. Subash Gond allegedly murdered his wife, Manei Gond, following a heated argument after returning from a wedding on Saturday afternoon. He reportedly killed her in front of their children and kept the body inside the house until midnight. Later, he dragged the body and dumped it into the septic tank behind the house.

On Sunday morning, Subash told villagers that his wife had left home. His inconsistent statements raised suspicion. When villagers questioned him repeatedly, he refused to answer. The couple’s four-year-old son then disclosed that his father had killed his mother and hidden her body in the toilet tank.

Shocked villagers informed the police. Raighar police reached the spot, recovered Manei’s body from the septic tank, and arrested Subash late Sunday night. Officers began an investigation to determine the motive and sequence of events.

The revelation stunned the local community. Residents expressed grief and demanded strict punishment for the accused. Police officials said they would examine all evidence and record statements from witnesses.
