A female elephant’s carcass was discovered near the Saharagoda forest in the Angul range, causing alarm among nearby villagers.
As per preliminary observations, the elephant appeared to be middle-aged, but the cause of death remains unknown.
This morning, local residents spotted the carcass near a muddy woodland close to Saharagoda village and quickly informed forest authorities. Upon receiving the report, officials from the Forest Department arrived on-site and began an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the animal’s death.
The incident has raised concerns over wildlife safety and conservation efforts in the region. While initial signs don’t point to foul play, experts suggest natural causes, possible disease, or even electric shock as probable factors. A post-mortem report is expected to shed light on the matter.
