Ganjam: A minor boy reportedly drowned in Kandha Ranipada village under Beguniapada block in Ganjam district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Om Behera, son of Basant Behera.
According to reports, Om drowned after going to the village pond for some work. Locals first noticed him and alerted his family. With the assistance of the locals, the family members retrieved him and rushed him to Kodala Medical, where doctors pronounced him dead.
After being informed, Kodala police arrived at the site and took custody of the body for an autopsy. The police station has recorded a case of unnatural death.
