A 40-year-old man, Sambhu Singh, allegedly beheaded his 70-year-old father, Baidhar Singh, in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.
The gruesome act took place earlier today, with Sambhu using a sharp weapon to commit the crime.
Following the murder, Sambhu attempted to kill his mother as well, but she managed to escape. He then walked into the Chandua police station, carrying his father’s severed head in a bag, and surrendered to the authorities.
Police have launched an investigation into the motive behind the murder, with the assistance of a forensic team. Sambhu Singh has been taken into custody, and further investigations are underway.
