Massive Influx of Devotees Overwhelms Ayodhya’s Infrastructure

Ayodhya: Ayodhya’s Ram Temple experienced an overwhelming surge of devotees on Monday morning, severely straining the city’s police and administrative resources.

By 4 a.m., thousands of vehicles were halted 25 kilometers from the city center, leading to significant frustration among pilgrims. The influx has caused major congestion on routes to key religious sites, including the Ram Temple, Janmabhoomi Path, and Hanuman Garhi. Despite efforts to widen roads and enhance infrastructure, Ayodhya’s narrow streets remain heavily congested, making navigation challenging.

Experts estimate that approximately 65 lakh devotees have arrived in Ayodhya within the past 96 hours, overwhelming the city’s capacity. This surge follows the Mauni Amavasya holy dip at Prayagraj, after which many pilgrims traveled directly to Ayodhya.

In response, senior officials have been actively monitoring the situation, conducting inspections throughout the night to manage the unprecedented crowd.
