Sambalpur Police have seized a large quantity of cough syrup and marijuana in various parts of the district in a major anti-narcotics operation.
Acting on intelligence inputs, Town Police arrested Sudhanshu Mohanty from Dhuturapada and confiscated 50 kilograms of marijuana from his possession.
Meanwhile, the Burla Police seized 820 bottles of banned cough syrup used in illicit drug consumption. The operation resulted in the arrest of five individuals, including Raja Nayak, Rajesh Besra, Siddhant Nag, and a woman identified as Dulant Naik.
All accused have been forwarded to court, with police confirming that multiple previous cases have been registered against them. Authorities are intensifying efforts to curb narcotics trafficking in the region.
