‘Mass Genocide?’ CJP Slams Karnataka BJP Over ‘Dimagi Naxals’ KGF Meme

The Karnataka BJP has drawn criticism from the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) over a social media post that used a violent scene from KGF Chapter 2 to target people described as “Dimagi Naxals”.

The CJP accused the ruling party of using violent imagery against people it has labelled as having “Naxal” ideology and questioned whether the post amounted to an open call for violence.

“Are we really witnessing a ruling party openly calling for mass genocide?” CJP said while reacting to the post.

BJP uses KGF scene in ‘Dimagi Naxals’ post

The controversy centres on a meme shared by the Karnataka BJP featuring a scene from KGF Chapter 2. The sequence shows the film’s protagonist and his associates opening fire on their rivals.

The BJP repurposed the scene to depict different state units of the party as the shooters, while referring to their targets as “Dimagi Naxals”.

The Karnataka BJP captioned the post: “No slowing down – taking on ‘Dimagi Naxals’ with full force.”

The post quickly drew criticism from the CJP, which questioned the use of violent film imagery in political messaging.

CJP spokesperson Saurav Das accused the BJP of threatening young people and criticised what he described as an increasingly aggressive tone in political discourse.

“The ruling party is openly threatening to shoot the country’s youngsters dead!” Das wrote on X.

He also accused the BJP of using inflammatory rhetoric against a generation that questions the government and demands change.

CJP raises comparison with Nazi Germany

In another social media post, Das said he was saddened by what he described as the use of hateful rhetoric by a major political party.

He alleged that the meme represented a call for “mass murder” of a generation that questions those in power.

Das further compared the rhetoric with Nazi Germany and questioned how such political messaging had become acceptable in public discourse.

The CJP’s criticism comes amid a wider political debate over the use of terms such as “Naxal”, “anti-national” and “Dimagi Naxal” to describe ideological opponents.

What did PM Modi say about ‘Dimagi Naxals’?

The controversy also comes shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to “Dimagi Naxals” during his Independence Day address.

Modi said that while armed Naxalism had been curbed, people with what he described as “Naxal thinking” continued to pose an ideological challenge.

He called for such individuals to be identified and isolated while urging young people to contribute towards building a developed India.

The BJP’s Karnataka post appears to have drawn on this political terminology, using “Dimagi Naxals” as the label for the targets shown in the KGF-inspired meme.

BJP yet to respond to CJP criticism

The CJP’s criticism has intensified the political debate over the use of violent imagery and language by political parties on social media.

While the CJP has interpreted the KGF meme as an alleged threat of violence, the BJP post itself described the imagery as a depiction of its campaign against those it calls “Dimagi Naxals”.

The row highlights how political parties are increasingly using popular culture, memes and film references to communicate political messages online—and how such content can quickly trigger controversy over its tone and implications.
