Bhubaneswar: Due to the absence of street lighting near SBI chakk in Mancheswar, the area has turned into a death trap for the locals and passersby.
Reportedly, the Street light was uprooted after a truck hit the electric pole. However, no high mast pole has been implanted in the square.
The square, said to be the busiest route of the city, is also facing a lot of problems following the bad road engineering.
As it is an industrial estate, companies heavy vehicles ply in this area, especially from morning to 8 pm. The absence of street lighting and speeding vehicles has raised the chances of road mishaps.
On being questioned, Cooperator Pranati Nayak of ward no 10 has informed that the area comes under Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO).
There are no street lights from the past three months causing accidents. Accidents took place here not only at night but also in the daytime, stated several residents of the area.
