Malkangiri: The district administration has extended a helping hand to Karama Muduli, a girl student of the primitive Bonda tribe, who was recently seen toiling hard as a daily labourer to arrange money for her higher education.
After various sections of media reported about the plight of Karama, the Malkangiri district administration has come forward to help her achieve her dreams.
Malkangiri district welfare officer informed the District Collector through a letter that Karama has been provided financial assistance of Rs 30,000 from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Karama Muduli of Bondaghat Mudulipada in Malkangiri district had secured the district topper position in Plus II Commerce by scoring 82.66 percent. At present, Karama is pursuing Plus III in Commerce stream at Rama Devi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar. With the vacations underway, Karama had come to her native village and was working as a daily labourer to earn some money and save it for expenses during her stay at the university in Bhubaneswar.
Karama’s parents, who are daily labourers, are unable to pay for her educational expenses. Due to the financial constraints, she was working as a day labourer to cover the cost of education.
After her plight came to the fore, the district administration promised her to provide financial assistance and also provide further assistance for study materials.
