Raghunathpalli Police achieved a breakthrough by dismantling a veteran criminal gang responsible for a series of vehicle thefts across Rourkela and its peripheral areas.

Officers arrested three key members of the racket and recovered several stolen vehicles.

The operation resulted in the seizure of seven Boleros, four motorcycles, and other stolen items. Police confirmed that the arrests solved 11 property offences committed in 2025 and 2026. The crackdown marked a decisive step in curbing organised vehicle theft in the region.

Investigators revealed that the gang operated systematically, targeting vehicles in busy and vulnerable areas. The arrests disrupted their network and restored confidence among residents who had faced repeated thefts. Police highlighted that the recovery of stolen vehicles provided relief to victims and strengthened public trust in law enforcement.

Senior officers commended the Raghunathpalli Police team for their swift action and effective investigation. Authorities emphasised that the operation demonstrated the department’s commitment to tackling organised crime and ensuring public safety.

The arrested individuals face charges under relevant sections of the law. Police continue to investigate the racket to identify other associates and recover additional stolen property. Officials stated that further arrests may follow as the probe expands.
